Cardiff has been the capital city
of Wales since 1955 and is a prosperous and
vibrant city full of character and atmosphere with a
full range of top class facilities. If you fly into Cardiff
you will use Cardiff International Airport which is the
main airport for Wales and serves around 2 million passengers
each year. The airport is located approximately 12 miles
(19km) to the south west of Cardiff city centre.
The city centre offers a wide range of
shopping facilities with seven shopping arcades and traffic
free streets. The centre of Cardiff is dominated by the
Millennium Stadium which dominates the sky line. The other
main attraction is the Castle which is one of Wales' leading
heritage attractions and is a great place to visit and
marval at the lavish design.
Another great place to visit is Cardiff
Bay which has altered beyond recognition of the past ten
years, and is now one of Europe's largest waterfront developments.
The bay has many attractions such as Techniquest Science
Discovery Centre, and the Wales Millennium Centre which
is a international arts centre.
